Our children are orphaned or abandoned; they have no one else to care for them, but us. Through a thorough selection process and by working closely with the state social service, we carefully research the children’s background before accepting their care. This is done so that we can establish a life history for each child entering our care as well as making sure that he or she does not have a biological family member who would be prepared to accept guardianship. Once this is established, the child will enter our care and join our family. We immediately begin the process of becoming his or her legal guardian clearing the way for the child to live as a member of the AFO community ona long-term basis. The age group for children entering our care are five to nine years old, however in the case of natural siblings they could be older or younger.
